Position Description =
SUMMARY: The R&D Engineer/Scientist will be responsible for leading the process and product development effort for new
solar technology. Candidate must have a MS or PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, or similar field with
experience in cell development and fabrication of organic or organic/inorganic cells. Candidates will have worked in an R&D
setting with experience in process development, process and equipment design, as well as in general experimental
procedures. The candidate will have excellent written and communication skill and should be familiar with standard word,
spreadsheet, presentation, and design software. Candidates with industrial experience are preferable.
DUTIES:
Process development and optimization for nanomaterials using colloidal dispersion
Develop and implement QC and online process control to improve reliability and reproducibility
Establish and use cell characterization methods
Support the scale-up activities (as required)
Interact with subcontractors and on-site technicians as needed
Lead the writing and preparation of proposals, reports, grants, contracts technical papers, presentations, and other written
or verbal communication objectives of related tasks
Find, develop, and use numerous information sources in conducting on going R&D activities
Keep abreast of all new and developing information related to active projects
General laboratory support and other duties, including:
Evaluates pricing and options for, and orders raw materials, supplies, equipment and other items as necessary
Maintain laboratory notebook and other documentation as required
Performs experiments using analytical instrumentation
Checks and maintains relevant laboratory and processing equipments
Participates in weekly (or as required) discussions in regard to status of work in progress
Generates regular progress reports
Collates relevant advances in field

Job Summary:
Initially scale-up the rapid exothermic process for producing polysilicon.  Continually improve the efficiency of the process and
quality of the product.  Lead the engineering team.
Essential Job Duties:
  • Initially, based on the knowledge and parameters acquired from a bench scale reaction system, develop in incremental
    steps the rapid exothermic reaction system for mass production.Lead the team or an outside engineering company in
    the designing of the mass production process.
  • Lead the team or an outside engineering company in the designing of the reaction equipment.
  • Provide guidance and/or solution to technical difficulties encountered by the team.
  • Work with Safety Team and Production Team to develop rules and regulations for operation.
  • Analyze the quality and characteristic of the polysilicon and device ways to improve if necessary.
  • Continually improve the efficiency of the process and the quality of the product.
  • Review and approve design work and documentation done by the team and/or outside engineering company.
  • Develop testing schemes for intermediate and mass production processes and equipment.
  • Sign-off on equipment fabricated by Company and/or vendors.
  • Manage and protect the intellectual properties of the team.
  • Consult for Production Engineering on difficult to solve production issues.
  • Suppliers sourcing.
  • Liaise with suppliers at a higher level.
  • Setup rules and research methodology for the team.
  • Supervise, lead, nurture and mentor the team members.
  • Help the Company grow.
  • Work towards a greener world.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical or Material Science.
  • Must possess minimum 10 years relevant industry experience.  
  • Must possess experience for handling hazardous material.
  • Must possess experience for rapid exothermic processes.
  • Must possess experience for high temperature (>1000°C) processes.
  • Crystallography knowledge and/or experience desired.
  • Experience working with alkali metal desired.
  • Experience working with high purity metal/material desired.
  • Experience with Hunter Process and/or tantalum extraction process desired.
  • Must possess strong written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work safely in a lab research environment.
  • Must have an inherent passion for discovery.
  • Previous leadership roles desired.
  • Must possess mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the job duties.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed primarily indoors.  Lighting is artificial.  Equipment used includes standard office equipment i.e. computer,
telephone, fax machine and scanning electron microscope.  Physical demands include sitting, walking, standing, bending
over, kneeling, repetitive use of hands, grasping, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 15 kg.  Hours and days are Monday
through Friday with occasional weekends or overtime required.  Position requires close contact with other employees.

     1.2. - NA office goals: year 2-3+
   1.2.1. - Manage application of Company's design, engineering and technical expertise to develop projects.
   1.2.2. - As projects mature, expand Company's stake in projects acquired in year 1.
   1.2.3. - Continue to expand Company's long-term presence in NA through acquisition and development.
    1.2.4. - Manage overall NA operations.
Functions & Responsibilities =
2.1. - Program and perform all the required functions to reach the established objectives.

Position Description = California-based energy company, a subsidiary of a global engineering and design company focused
on renewable power plant development, engineering and design is looking for an energy and/or financial professional to
assist the US business.
Reporting: Reports to COO
Project and business development
- Assess and create power plant development opportunities in the US for renewable resources including solar thermal,
photovoltaic, and wind energy.
- Meet with 3rd parties including power plant developers, investment funds, EPC contractors to create and assess
opportunities for company to develop power projects or provide engineering and development services
- Develop and assess solar thermal and PV technologies to form basis for development decisions
- Lead development of US cost estimates for solar thermal, PV and wind energy for bids and negotiations for power plant
development and advisory services
- Lead development of proposals to utilities and other 3rd parties sell power, joint venture,
Financial Analysis  (preferred skill set but not required)
- Develop pro forma financial projections for renewable energy projects that include GAAP financial statements, tax benefits,
and pricing and rate of return results
- Conduct sensitivity analysis to understand business drivers and project risks
- Develop analysis required for lending institutions and potential investors
Presentations
- Communicate development opportunities, bid proposal recommendations, and costs analysis to management.  Present to  
3rd parties, including  utilities, power developers, potential investors, and lending institutions as applicable.
Financing
- Support efforts to obtain equity and debt financing.  Activities may include joint venture development arrangements
Experience
- Combination of technical engineering and business administration degrees preferred.  Bachelors degree required.   
- Knowledge of power industry required
- Preference for professionals with demonstrated understanding of power industry project development and financial
analysis.  MBA or Master’s degree in technical field preferred.
- Five years experience in development, engineering or related field
- Ability to build menu driven financial models for energy projects preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
- Self starter, able to work in changing and demanding environment
